Australia is home to a vibrant street and public art culture. In conjunction with St+art Festival, Australian artists Georgia Hill and Fintan Magee will collaborate with Indian artists to create works in New Delhi and Mumbai.
Often referred to as Australia’s Banksy, Fintan is famous for his murals throughout Australia and the world. He creates socially and environmentally engaged works, often using personal experiences to describe pressing global issues,
Georgia specialises in type-based artworks that combine bold, black and white textures and lettering within experimental compositions. She will collaborate with an Indian sign painter to create a work in the Lodhi Art District. She will also conduct a workshop on typography applied to urban art.
"I invite you to experience the diversity and dynamism of Australian culture. Come, see and engage with Australia, in your city and through our online platforms, and see what we have to offer. " - Australia's High Commissioner to India, HE Ms Harinder Sidhu
