John Gollings AM is one of Australia’s pre-eminent photographers of the built environment. For the past 50 years, he has been synthesising his joint interests in photography and architecture to explore the cultural construction of social spaces.
John has a long-standing connection to India and has dedicated over 35 years to researching and photographing the World Heritage Site of Hampi in South India.
The Monash Gallery of Art, a leading Australian public gallery dedicated to photography, has curated an exhibition of John’s extensive body of work, titled The History of the Built World.
